From 1 January 2022, property owners of rental properties have stricter compliance requirements at law (“Compliance Requirements”) with respect to smoke alarms. We offer to ensure the smoke alarms at the property are upgraded to comply with the Compliance Requirements (“Upgrade”) on the basis of these Offer Terms and subject to the Exclusions (“Offer”).
2. Upgrade Price
The Upgrade Price attached to this Offer is valid until 31 March 2021 and is the price to upgrade a whole property based on the Total Bedrooms at a property, as that term is described in these Offer Terms and is as follows:
^ Number of Bedrooms is used to calculate the total cost of the Upgrade for the property, and is calculated based on the total number of bedrooms (whether in use or not) including studies & offices, where those studies or offices could be used as a bedroom.
* All prices are inclusive of GST. Total Property Upgrade Price includes required alarms in hallways and common areas but does not include the cost of switchboard upgrade (if required) as set out in paragraph 8. If you are not a current subscriber to smoke alarm services, you will need to become one to accept this upgrade offer and the annual service fee set out in paragraph 4 of these Offer Terms will be added to the Deposit amount.
The Deposit payable for the Upgrade is fixed at $319 (incl GST) per property. The Deposit may be refunded where the property is sold prior to the Upgrade installation date, where evidence is provided.
